Plain English, no surprises. Here's what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Hearne Technologies ("Hearne Technologies," "we," "us") is a managed IT services provider based in Lufkin, Texas. This policy explains how we handle information collected through this website, hearnetech.com. It does not cover the systems we manage for clients under a service agreement — those are governed by that agreement.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, the services you're interested in, and anything you write in the message field. You choose what to share — if you'd rather just call or email, you can.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our host records standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, in server logs used for security and reliability. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site.
On-device settings. Our accessibility toolbar (text size, dyslexia-friendly font, contrast, and so on) saves your choices in your browser's local storage. That stays on your device — it's never sent to us.
Cookies & third-party content
This site doesn't set its own tracking or advertising cookies. A few features load resources from other providers, which means your browser contacts them directly:
- Google Fonts — our typefaces load from Google's servers, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
- jsDelivr — the dyslexia-friendly font loads from this open-source CDN only if you enable that accessibility option.
- HubSpot — when you submit the contact form, your entry is sent to HubSpot, our customer relationship management (CRM) provider, so we can follow up.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and follow up about services you asked about.
- To provide, maintain, and improve our services and this website.
- To keep the site secure and operating reliably.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. To run the business and deliver our services, we rely on trusted third-party vendors and software applications (sometimes called "subprocessors"). We share information with them only as needed for them to do their job, and they're expected to protect it and use it only on our behalf. These include providers such as:
- HubSpot — our CRM; stores and organizes contact-form submissions and our communication with you.
- Xero — our accounting and billing platform, used for quotes, invoicing, and payments.
- Website & cloud hosting providers — serve this site and keep the security logs described above.
- Business operations tools — the IT management, productivity, and communication software we use to run the business and support clients (for example, our service-management and Microsoft/cloud platforms).
This list isn't exhaustive, and the specific vendors we use may change over time as we improve how we operate. We choose providers that take security and privacy seriously, and we hold them to confidentiality obligations. If you'd like to know the vendors that would handle your information in a given situation, just ask.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Hearne Technologies, our clients, or others.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form submissions and client records for as long as needed to respond to you, provide our services, and meet our legal and accounting obligations — then we delete or anonymize them. You can ask us to remove your information sooner (see below).
Your choices & rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or the EU/UK GDPR. To make a request, just email [email protected] — we'll respond promptly and won't charge you for it.
Security
We take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but security is a first-class part of how we work — not an afterthought.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted clearly on this page.
